About me

Eimear Gallagher STOTT PILATES certified for 17 years, Advanced Matwork & Reformer

I am 63 and have been teaching Pilates for over 17 years.  I started with matwork training in  2009 and subsequently trained in reformer, and later the tower and wunda chair. I will always love matwork, but I now specialise in Studio Pilates at Lagganstown Schoolhouse (E25 E409). That means a more comprehensive approach to the Pilates method, using reformers  and other equipment – or mat -as best suits on the day.

I run small group classes and also work with individuals on 1-1 basis to address specific injuries or simply to get familiar with the basics before joining a group. I am a contemporary instructor with classical leanings.

I have always loved movement and yoga but when I discovered Pilates in 2004, it really piqued my interest. Over a period of years, I moved away from a career of writing, editing and publishing to teaching lots of weekly mat classes. I’ve been running the studio in Lagganstown since 2020.

I have done lots of additional training-  for example, Pilates for Menopause and for Pelvic Floor Health. I have vast experience in adapting Pilates for Injuries and Special Populations. Many doctors recommend therapeutic Pilates pre- or post-surgery or for any limiting conditions. The larger equipment (reformer, tower, ladder barrels) and smaller props (magic circles, Oovs, small balls, therabands, etc), support older, weaker or injured bodies to move well! Pilates helps you get from stiffness and pain to ease of movement.

I continue to study with movement educators, bringing fresh  ideas and modalities into my own teaching.

with love, Eimear x
