This is a moderate, 55-minute class using medium strength, long flexband or ‘theraband’ provides. This stretchy band provides both resistance and support – so you get both concentric but eccentric muscle benefits – as you get while doing Pilates on a reformer (large piece of equipment with springs). It also facilates mobility like roll down or roll up. Please contact me if you’d like a flexband and I can provide!
[FYI, the concentric part happens when the muscle contracts (eg, to push foot and leg muscles out against flex band), while the eccentric portion happens when the muscle lengthens on the return. When the muscle doesn’t move at all – say a plank hold – it’s called isometric.]
